Willem,

Used to use the Air operated ones years ago...were the ducks nuts...if that wasn't available we would drag the old sliding hammer type out.
Repairing grader tyres on the Gibb in the build up...those were the days....lucky i was a young tacka, think it would kill me these days....

Hi Willem

Yes it is a Beadcheata and I have one still. Used it, as someone mentioned, mostly for heavy trucks and tractors but also used on the old split rim LC rims. Thankfully have not needed it for a long time. It beat a hammer and wedge!

Cheers

Hi DW,

I still run splits :-) Have Tyrepliers and am still able to work them despite being on the wrong side of middle age!

Cheers

Hi Willem,

I have the same beadbreaker as your mate. I didn't know it had a name though.
It is my tool of preference for the really tough beads. So simple to use and least amount of effort.
Compact and easy to pack. Mine fits inside the rear quarter panel where all of the tyre changing tools and jack are stored.

Definately recommend them.

Does anyone know what they cost now?
